PASSION PROJECT - PRODUCER/CAMERA/EDITOR

Winner of Queens World Film Festival and Hoboken International Film Festival, this documentary, "Reviving Nepal Bhasa," tells the story of the indigenous Newar people of Kathmandu Valley, known for their language Nepal Bhasa and as the original inhabitants of the valley. They are celebrated for their artistic and architectural creations, unique ritual activities, and cultural traditions.

Team Reviving Nepal Bhasa presents Bajracharya-style Mha Puja by Mr. Prajwal R. Vajracharya, featuring a simplified celebration of this ancient 'worship of self' tradition in Nepal Bhasa, typically observed during Nepal Sambat New Year, with more elaborate versions including offerings of 12 different fruits. Enjoy and celebrate Nhu Daya Bhintuna!

In response to the question: how to revive a language and culture like Nepal Bhasa, we present to you our first of many mini-series on Newar culture featuring Kabina Singh and her son Samrat "How to do a Newah Birthday."
